Job Description

Position Summary: 

Performs analysis, planning and testing of software applications. Uses experience in the software development lifecycle to develop an understanding of current products, tools and technologies in order to deliver superior and robust products that meet business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Relying on limited experience and knowledge, the Quality Assurance Analyst II is responsible for accomplishing the following assignments. These assignments are varied in nature.


    • Assess and understand project scope, design, boundaries and interfaces.
    • Create and implement a thorough test plan needed by the project.
    • Analyze business specifications and defines scenarios needed for testing.
    • Write and execute meaningful and relevant test cases
    • Identify defects, gaps and issues between business specifications and the product being developed.
    • Collaborate with the development team in addressing quality issues, defects or risks.
    • Understand how a change or additional requirements can affect the system as a whole.
    • Review and realign test strategy in the event of any change impacting the project.
    • Report project metrics relating to quality assurance.
    • Assist in creating and executing automated test scripts.
    • Organize and synthesize information received from business or technical teams.
    • Participate in meetings and discussions and able to present information in a professional manner.
    • Develop personal development plans and demonstrates progress to the established goals.
    • Comply and uphold organizational standards.


    Job Requirements

    Position Knowledge, Skills, and Requirements:



    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, BCIS, a related field, or the equivalent education and/or experience



    • Minimum of three years of relevant and progressive professional experience in software development, business systems analysis, or quality assurance analysis


    • Business Process Knowledge – understanding of the related activities or tasks that are needed to produce a specific service or project
    • Analytical Thought Process – ability to think in a logical, step-by-step manner and coming to a conclusion or solution to a problem           
    • Problem Resolution – ability to anticipate problems and gather supporting information the team will need in addressing them
    • Negotiation – ability to evaluate gaps and resolves differences to meet project goals
    • Knowledgeable on software development practices and the processes involved
    • Experienced in software testing methodologies, tools and technologies such as Microsoft applications, Visual Studio, Telerik, Selenium or similar tools
    • Able to identify, evaluate, and utilize major tools in the market
    • Solid understanding of the software platforms, operating systems and technologies that are primarily used in ProAg
    • Ability to handle sensitive and/or confidential material strictly in accordance with company policy, US Department of Agriculture Risk Management Agency (RMA) guidelines, etc.
    • Possess developing analytical skills as well an aptitude for decision-making and problem-solving
    • Pay attention to detail and relates them to the understanding of the big picture
    • Ability to work under pressure
    • Ability to be given direction once and apply logic in future tasks
    • Knows when to ask questions or when to resolve on own
    • Time management skills are imperative
    • Demonstrates flexibility and a willingness to learn
    • Possess and have ability to apply knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures
    • Solid written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with employees, adjusters, agencies, agents, the State Departments of Insurance and the general public. Maintaining professionalism at all times
    • Advanced organizational and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
    • Knowledgeable of industry changes, legal updates, and technical developments related to applicable area of the Company’s business to proactively respond to changing business environment
    • Intermediate proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office package (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word)


    Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

    • Overtime hours may be required to fulfill job responsibilities
    • May require travel outside normal work location up to 5% of time
    • May require a valid driver’s license
    • Must be able to tolerate prolonged sitting, standing, kneeling and walking for up to several hours per day
    • Must be able to lift and move 10-15 lbs regularly
    • Must be able to perform repetitive key-stroking activity for up to several hours per day
    • Requires use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, sit, talk. hear, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
    • Work environment: Office setting with business casual/casual work attire
