Job Description

The Manager of Software Quality Assurance will be involved in our software development process to ensure quality, and making sure that the software adheres to the defined business requirements. This individual will be responsible for defining, managing, and continuously improving the software testing process and framework for both manual and automation projects. Candidates should be capable of handling multiple concurrent assignments, and direct the efforts of other team members.   The individual must be able to exercise discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance. This position will report to Director of Software Development & IT Operations and is considered a working leadership role.

  • Ensure that the product meets the defined business acceptance criteria, is delivered on-time and with high quality.
  • Ensures overall project transparency and visibility to leadership and project team.      
  • Participates in or leads the development of best practices, procedures, and quality objectives, including metrics for assessing progress.
  • Enforce and utilize project standards, procedures, and quality objectives, including metrics for assessing progress.
  • Ensures that all project team members have the tools and project specific training required to perform effectively.
  • Demonstrates the ability to fully understand business objectives and proposed solutions, and is able to provide insight and factual knowledge to guide decisions.      
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Manage all resources as it relates to quality assurance and test automation.
  • Establish test automation coverage metrics and tracking
  • Define and maintain the test automation scope and schedule for the various applications
  • Analyze and report on test automation progress
  • Perform hands on test scripts development as necessary
  • Define, develop and implement quality assurance strategies and processes
  • Drive best practices for test automation, test execution and test management
  • Work with project teams to triage and identify bugs
  • Collaborate with development team to develop comprehensive testing plan
  • Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies and improve efficiency
  • Creates and nurtures a performance-based culture that supports efforts to accomplish ProAg’s mission and goals.
  • Create systems to parallel overall business strategies.
  • Effectively collaborates and communicates with others in the organization.
  • Research issues and escalate to Director of Software Development & IT Operations as needed.

Job Requirements

Qualifications required:

  • Requires 4-6 years’ experience in a quality analysis, test automation or related field and/or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or at least 2 years of experience in crop insurance.
  • Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience.
  • Highly motivated, with the ability to work from high-level objectives and goals.
  • Must be able to quickly grasp new technological concepts and implement them.
  • Must have strong organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills.
  • Self-starter with strong attention to details.
  • Must be able to analyze and understand written procedures.
  • Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written format with employees and the general public; to maintain confidentiality in daily operations; to conduct daily duties in a professional appearance and manner.
  • Must be familiar with relational database concepts, and client-server concepts.

Qualifications desired:

  • Experience with Selenium Web driver or other automation frameworks
  • Experience with load and performance testing
