Job Description

An exciting opportunity is available with ProAg, a subsidiary of TMHCC.
  The Account Representative position is responsible for maintaining policies and premium and servicing existing agents. This position is the main point of contact for agent questions or concerns, training, and education as well as underwriting support. Must have the ability to communicate oral and written information clearly and effectively. The Account Representative reports to the Regional Vice President or designee.

Essential functions and responsibilities:
• Acts as the first point of contact concerning any accounting or underwriting concerns or questions to help resolve issues
• Acts as first point of contact concerning any agent concerns or questions; providing the answer or a contact to help resolve issues
• Promotes the execution of ProAg business strategies including implementation and training of the ProAgWorks application
• Works with internal resources as necessary to prepare for and deliver necessary training or educational events
• Trains agents on ProAg programs, products and technology
• Hosts continuing education courses for agents and producers
• Supports the interpretation of FCIC documents
• Prepares and processes policies and endorsements
• Supports the analysis, research, and resolution of detailed policy information related to FCIC errors
• Monitor, manage, utilize, and disseminate reports of information
• Works with peer groups or teams where necessary to best support the market in the assigned territory.
• Facilitates joint planning with agents to grow business as a team.
• Communicates information clearly and effectively
• Produce accurate written communication
• Ensures compliance with organization policies and government regulations including all pertinent dates which include SCD, ARD, PRD, fund designation, and accounting cutoff
• Demonstrates best practices and desired behaviors when dealing with problem underwriting concerns, issue resolution, and training
• Exercises best independent judgment with escalating issues to the Underwriting Supervisor
• Travel is required including overnight stays.
• Conduct daily duties in a professional appearance and manner
• Assist with data entry
• Attend required training sessions

Job Requirements

Qualifications required:
• Requires an Associate’s Degree and/or five (5) years’ experience in the crop insurance industry or a related field
• Proficient with underwriting concepts, practices and procedures within the crop insurance industry
• Ability to learn and utilize proprietary software
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills with an attention to detail
• Superior verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in software applications to include Outlook, Internet and Microsoft Office
• Proficiency in written and mathematical processes

Qualifications desired:
• Minimum five (5) years’ experience in crop insurance, agriculture field or other insurance
• Prefer an Agriculture or Business Degree with farming background.
• Skill and ability to read and understand applications, reports, contracts, and other insurance related materials
• Proven administration and customer service skills.
